Borneo Bird Festival 2010

Its a relief when the event is ended.The festival was much better this year, more people came to the festival and participate in many programs. The  bird race was having more participant than last year. The weather was been pretty good. Rain came on the launching day just to cool down the temperature but the rest of the event was being in a good weather. 

The talk was pretty interesting, we got Dr Pilai Poonswad from Thailand who talk about Hornbill of the world and it was fascinating and interesting seeing how they do the conservation work for hornbill. Dennis Salvador from Philippines talks about "Monkey Eating Eagle". There more other speakers did an interesting talks.

Nikon & Borneo Bird Festival Roadshow 2010

9th - 10th October 2010

Roadshow at Giant Hypermarket, Mile 5, Sandakan to promote new product from Nikon Malaysia by Sandakan Foto, Nikon D3100 and P7000 plus for the coming 2nd Borneo Bird Festival scheduled from the 15th - 17th October 2010 at Rainforest Discovery Centre, Sandakan, Sabah.

The roadshow was well received by shoppers mostly kids for bird tattoo and face painting done by Sepilok Junior Ranger. Souvenirs from Kadai Ku also on sale that time, pictures exhibitions showcasing the beauty of Sabah by members from Borneo Bird Club and many more.

Borneo Bird Festival 2010 Roadshow

Rainforest Discovery Centre Open Day

26th June 2010

Held as one of the annual event by the Forestry Department in Sabah, the one day event was held at Rainforest Discovery Centre, Sepilok about 30 minutes drive from Sandakan city. There were exhibition of flora and fauna as well equipments used for observing nature such as Nikon binoculars and fieldscopes.

The new Nikon EDG binoculars, 8x42 and 10x42 was also unveiled to the public as it was the first in Malaysia after its official released few months ago in Japan. It is available for sale at Sandakan Foto, Mile 3.5 Bandar Kim Fung and for more info of these binoculars, please go to Nikon EDG website
